You may have seen a series of weekly posts in the COLONTOWN Downtown online group about a page from COLONTOWN University (CTU). The aim of these posts are to familiarize COLONTOWN members with the information we have on CTU.
Here’s a little bit on how CTU came into being:
As you all know, our online group is great for us to talk about our CRC experiences etc, but as far as finding something that’s already been posted – that’s not very easy. The search bar is a great place to start, but searching FB can be very frustrating. So Nancy Seybold, the COO of PALTOWN, the non-profit that supports COLONTOWN, had this brilliant idea of having a place that is easy to get to & searchable, which would be the educational branch of COLONTOWN. This would allow us, among other things, to collect and curate the information and wisdom from COLONTOWN.
CTU is organized into multiple Learning Centers, and this #CTUinCT series of posts are intended to take you through the content there.
There’s something for everyone– irrespective of whether you are newly diagnosed, or know your way around your disease and treatment options.
Every week, the members of the CTU Content team are hard at work in creating more patient-friendly information that can help CRC patients and caregivers learn to navigate this new, scary and unfamiliar world of colorectal cancer they have been thrust into.
In this post, let me introduce the CTU Content team: There’s Nancy Seybold, who’s the brain behind the idea of CTU, Anne Nesathurai, who is the Managing Editor, Digital Content, Amy True, who is a caregiver member of the Content Team, Michele Lee Vangilder, who is the most recent patient member, Julie Clauer, who is the Education Programs manager, and me, who is the Scientific Editor of the Content Team.
