Jamie Samuelsen Baseball Tournament

Jamie Samuelsen on Mic

Jamie Samuelsen was a beloved figure in the Detroit sports media scene for over 25 years. He was the morning drive radio host of the “Jamie and Stoney Show” on 97.1 The Ticket, a regular on the FOX2 TV Lions pregame show and an opinion writer for the Detroit Free Press.

He passed away on August 1, 2020 at the age of 48 after a 19 month battle with colorectal cancer. Right before he died, Jamie went on the radio to share his fight and urge listeners to get a colonoscopy. The lasting impact of Jamie’s message continues to resonate across the community who loved him.

Samuelsen McDonald Family

Jamie’s wife, Detroit broadcaster Christy McDonald, along with her three children, are finding new and creative ways to spread Jamie’s last message of awareness.

They support the amazing work the COLONTOWN community is doing to educate patients, access the latest research and empower families to fight this disease.

The Jamie Samuelsen Strike out Colon Cancer Baseball Tournament, scheduled for Aug 26-28 in Troy, Michigan, will help raise funds to support COLONTOWN
